There are two components under the Child Care Subsidy framework:

Basic Subsidy rate are based on applicant’s employment status and programme type enrolled.

Additional Subsidy is means tested. Lower income families will receive more.

Additional Subsidy applies to families with mothers who work at least 56 hours or more per month and the monthly household income does not exceed $12,000.

Larger families with 3 or more dependents who are not earning any income, may apply for Additional Subsidy using Per Capita Income (PCI). In this case, the family will be eligible for AS if the PCI does not exceed $3,000.

The PCI is calculated according to the formula below:

Per Capita Income = Total gross monthly household income of family / Number of family members living in the same household. All family members included in the application must be related by blood, marriage and/or legal adoption and living in the same residential address as reflected in the NRIC of the main applicant. Dependents refer to persons living in the same household who are not earning an income.
